Jonas Marschall, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Marschall joined the Infectious Disease Division in 2009. He received his MD from the University of Basel, Switzerland and did an internal medicine residency as well as an ID fellowship in Switzerland before moving to St. Louis in 2006.

Research Interests

Dr. Marschall is interested in clinical and translational research focusing on nosocomial infections and the management of infectious diseases in the hospital. He has ongoing research projects on urinary tract infections, bloodstream infections, and bone and joint infections. His current funding comes from a KL2 Career Development Award and a BJHF/ICTS Research Grant. He attends in clinica and in the ID consult service and specializes in the care of patients with urinary tract infections and bone and joint infections. He also underwent formal education in tropical and travel medicine and counsels travelers in clinic .
